Veteran Ventures Capital, a Tyson, VA-based growth-equity investment firm, announced the first close of its Fund II, reaching $25M—half of its target raise of $50M.

The close was supported by investments from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) and the State of Tennessee. Additionally, the team received investment and guidance from Ken Hersh and the dedicated team at Hersh Family Investments.

VVC Veterans Fund II invests in rapidly growing businesses that are developing the future technologies critical to national security.

Founded in 2019 by Managing Partner Derren Burrell and also led by General Partners Paul Woolard, Steve Kiser, and Josh Weed, as well as COO Craig Jaques, Veteran Ventures Capital focuses on companies led by veterans leveraging skills, discipline, and leadership qualities inherent in those who have served and defended the nation.
