Alium Capital Launches 2nd Late Stage VC Fund

Alium Capital, a Sydney, Australia-based late stage venture capital firm, has launched its 2nd fund.

A person involved told us that the Alium Innovation Fund will close soon at AUS$250m to invest in private companies with a focus of Technology & Innovation. The firm prefers being the first institutional backer, investing alongside Founders and taking a minority stake. They can also invest in Secondaries in high quality companies.

The firm works closely with the management team to grow and scale the business with plans to reach the liquidity within a 5 year timeframe, either via M&A or a public offering.

The first fund was a AUS$300m fund.

Key people include partners Rajeev Gupta, Jason Rich, and Michael Considine.
