Accel Raises $650M Eight Early Stage VC Fund for Europe and Israel

Accel, a Silicon Valley venture capital investor with a London, UK based team, raised its $650m eighth early-stage fund for Europe and Israel.

The new vehicle will invest at the earliest stages in founders building global category-defining enterprise and consumer technology companies out of Europe and Israel.

Accel opened its London office in 2000 with Europe’s technology ecosystem still in its nascent era. Now in its 24th year on the ground in the old continent, the firm has now backed 200+ companies across more than 60 cities and 20 countries, including places such as Lithuania, Portugal, Romania and Serbia.

The portfolio includes Supercell, BlaBlaCar, Doctolib, Shift Technology, Sorare, Celonis, Check24, Personio, sennder, Trade Republic, Cyera, Melio, Snyk, GoCardless, Monzo, Synthesia, Zepz, Filigran, Lottie, Oasis, and Viso.
