Fairview Capital, a West Hartford, CT-based venture capital and private equity investment management firm, announced the promotion of Alan Mattamana and Aakar Vachhani to Managing Partner, effective January 1, 2024.
Before joining Fairview in 2009, Mr. Mattamana served as a Principal at Polaris Venture Partners, a diversified venture capital firm. Prior to Polaris Venture Partners, he was a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co, where he served clients in the software, telecommunications, and aerospace sectors in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. He also has prior experience at NASA, Goldman Sachs, and Neuberger Berman. Mr. Mattamana holds a B.S.E in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He serves on several advisory boards of venture capital and private equity partnerships and is actively involved in his community, serving on the Board of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, and the Board of Connecticut Health and Education Facilities Authority (CHEFA).
Mr. Vachhani joined Fairview as an Analyst in 2008, and established and leads the firm’s San Francisco Office. He worked with Cambridge Associates, where he analyzed private equity and venture capital investments in support of the firm’s clients and consultants. Mr. Vachhani also led research and data analytics projects on the firm’s private equity and venture capital database and holds a B.S. in Economics-Finance from Bentley University and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation from the Kellogg School of Management. In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Vachhani is an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Directors of San Francisco Achievers and the New Breath Foundation.
Mr. Mattamana and Mr. Vachhani were previously Partners at Fairview. In their expanded roles, both will continue to serve on the firm’s Investment Committee and play their part in investment selection, deal execution, and monitoring activities for Fairview’s venture capital and private equity partnership and direct co-investment portfolios. Additionally, they will join the current Managing Partners in the management and strategic leadership of the firm as Fairview continues to advance and grow.
