BoxGroup Closes Two Funds, Totalling $425M


BoxGroup, a NYC-based venture capital firm, closed two funds, totalling $425m.

According to TechCrunch, the funds are:

  • BoxGroup Six, a $212.5m pre-seed and seed-stage fund, and
  • BoxGroup Picks, its third $212.5m opportunity fund.

BoxGroup invests from $500k to $1m at the earliest stage (as early as the pre-seed round and as late as Series A) in entrepreneurs working at the beginning of movements in existing markets, or new markets yet to be created, with the vision to create the next generation of category defining businesses. The firm reserves capital to follow-on as companies scale.

Investment areas include climatetech, marketplaces, healthtech, consumer tech, enterprise tech, Web3, fintech.

The new funds plan to invest into 40 to 50 new startups.

The team includes investors David Tisch, Adam Rothenberg, Nimi Katragadda, Greg Rosen, Adina Davis, Claire Smilow, Claire Goldsmith, Disha Karale, Zodi Chalat, as well as Chief Financial Officer Brian Aledort.
