Aavishkaar Capital, a Mumbai, Maharashtra, India-based impact investment firm, closed its sixth India fund, at $150m.
Aavishkaar India Fund VI reportedly received support from domestic and international limited partners including Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets, British International Investment, Fund of Funds for Startups, and Self-Reliant India Fund, among others.
The fund will invest approx. $5m – $25m in ticket size in 8 early growth companies. Areas of focus include Financial Inclusion, Food & Agriculture, and Essential Services.
Started in 2001, Aavishkaar invests in entrepreneurs building sustainable enterprises that can catalyze development impact for excluded communities and remote geographies across the globe. Aavishkaar’s focus is India, as well as other countries in South and South East Asia.
