OpenView Venture Partners Reportedly Lays Off Staff and Stops Investing

According to reports from The Information, OpenView Venture Partners, a Boston, MA-based venture capital firm, laid off most of its staff and will suspend investment activities.

In March 2023, the firm had announced the closing of its seventh fund totaling $570m.

Founded in 2006, OpenView has invested globally in business software companies across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and vertical software, providing them with capital and support via a dedicated expansion team with expertise to help teams on sales, marketing, product-led growth, talent, and corporate development. The firm, which has $2.4 billion in total assets under management, has partnered with more than 60 companies including Datadog, Calendly, Axonius, JumpCloud, UserTesting, and Workfront, among others. Opeview had nearly 80 team members in March 2023.

Reportedly, OpenView yesterday told LPs that they would provide a new strategic plan within three to six months.

The firm has not issued a note.
