Interplay, a NYC-based venture capital firm focused on investing in technology-enabled businesses across Seed, Series A and Series B, closed its third fund, at $45m.

Interplay Early Stage Fund III will focus on B2B marketplaces and vertical software companies.

Led by Mark Peter Davis, Kevin Tung and Mike Rogers, Interplay invests in high-growth technology companies via direct and secondary transactions, and high yield fund managers through its Venture Capital arm and Family Office. The firm only invests in businesses that have demonstrated quantifiable financial and operational fundamentals, including a scaling customer base, early product-market fit, and (typically) real revenue growth. Interplay primarily invests in companies based in the US, Canada, Latin America, or Israel. The Family Office invests both in funds (including other VC funds) and direct opportunities.

The firm also cofounds and incubates companies typically starting from scratch – building an idea they have. When they incubate they help other teams scale their company. The CEO of the incubated company will receive the title of Entrepreneur In Residence at Interplay during the course of the program. The founders get access to a suite of program perks worth more than $250K, including credits & discounts at Amazon Web Services, Chelsea Capital, HubSpot, IBM, Intercom, Magic, MixPanel, Spoke, Twilio, Venwise, ZenDesk and others.

Interplay also provides a platform featuring educational content and providing services – such as accounting, marketing and beyond.

The team also includes Christian Mark, Caroline Elliott, Stacy Greco, Will Richardson, and others.

The firm has already deployed over 40% of Fund III’s capital into companies.
