Ex/Ante Raises $33M Fund To Invest In Agentic Tech

ex/ante, a NYC-based venture capital firm focused on dedicated to “agentic technology”, launched with a $33m first fund.

Spun out of Schmidt Futures, a philanthropic venture arm of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, the fund received support from Eric Schmidt, Protocol Labs, Union Square Ventures, Cendana Capital, Ford Foundation, The Klarman Family Foundation, Brad Burnham, Fred Wilson, Kirsten Green, among others.

Led by Zoe Weinberg, Founder & Managing Partner, and Michael Mosier, ex/ante is a venture capital firm dedicated to backing pre-seed & seed stage companies working in the field of what they call “agentic tech,” advancing individuals’ agency and control—over their privacy, data, assets, and information tackling challenges like privacy, data ownership, security, identity, and information integrity.

The firm provides teams with checks from $500k to $1m, to launch, build, and scale—leveraging diverse partners and risk-forward capital.

ex/ante has made some investments so far, including Anon, Briunen, Lockr, Hounddog.ai, Wast, Webacy, Pendulum, and Reality Defender.
