Geek Ventures Closes First Fund, at USD23M

Geek Ventures

Geek Ventures, a NYC-based venture capital firm investing in immigrant founders, closed Geek Ventures Fund I, LP., at $23m.

Backers include angel investors, entrepreneurs, CEOs, and institutions like Adam Foroughi, CEO and founder of Applovin, Mikita Mikado and Sergey Barysiuk, founders of PandaDoc, Decile Capital Premier Fund I, and more.

The inaugural fund will support pre-seed and seed stage technology startups that are driving innovation in global markets and the U.S. The firm also curates immigrant-focused networking events to help founders build connections, grow their networks, and break into the U.S. market.

The fund is targeting 60 total investments, with investments ranging from $50k to $1m.

Geek Ventures has already backed such companies as NewHomesMate, ShapesXR, FoodReady, Spice AI and more, to help them grow in the U.S.

The firm was founded by Ihar Mahaniok, an immigrant engineering leader with over 20 years of experience building code and machine learning models for startups and conglomerates.

Prior to Geek Ventures, he invested as an angel investor in companies such as Instacart, PandaDoc, People.ai, Chainalysis, Airbyte, and Jeeves at pre-seed and seed stage, and hundreds of other companies.

Mahaniok is joined by Vadim Rogovskiy as Partner. He brings over a decade of experience as a serial venture-backed founder, and Maksym Strukov and Sviatoslava Luhovets as Investment Analysts.
